XGATE Dental in partnership with Denta Solaris Conclude Joint Digital Surgical Guide and Implant-Supported Restoration Training in Ankara
The “Digital Surgical Guide and Implant-Supported Restoration Training” was held on July 26, 2026, in Ankara. The instruction was led by Msc. Dr. Armin Tavana, a renowned lecturer in Turkey within the field of digital dentistry. This one-day educational event provided dental professionals with a comprehensive overview of digital workflows in implantology.
Operating at its full capacity, the program focused on the practical application of digital tools in dental surgery, combining theoretical sessions with hands-on practice.
Course Content and Theoretical Focus
The initial sessions covered the fundamental principles of guided surgery and digital implant planning. Topics addressed by Dr. Tavana included:
- The basics of guide surgery, required software, necessary files, and surgical sets.
- Tomography interpretation and DICOM file transfer protocols.
- The use of intraoral scanners and key operational considerations.
- Comparisons of different digital implant planning software.
- Pre-surgical superstructure planning.
Practical Application
The event included dedicated practice sessions that allowed participants to apply the discussed techniques directly:
- Surgical Guide Production: The stages of designing, producing, and finishing surgical guides during the course. This included pre-operative checks on physical models for error identification and correction.
- Scanning and Design: Practical execution of intraoral scanning techniques over implants, including scanbody scanning, followed by active superstructure planning.
Additional discussions addressed critical considerations for superstructure design, as well as the selection criteria for modern production materials.
